This week we learnt about Mormonism.
Mormonism was started by this dude called Joseph Smith.
To over-summarise the history of Mormonism:
- 600BC: This Israelite called Lehi went to America
- His descendants formed two tribes Nephites and Lamanites, and they fought each other.
- 33 AD: Jesus appeared to stop the fighting, but they ended up fighting again.
- A Nephite prophet called Mormon wrote these stuff into the Book of Mormon, on gold plates.
- 1823 AD: Joseph smith was kinda confused about the different denominations of churches and wondered which one is real.
- He went to the forest to pray and saw God and Jesus. They told him to not join any church.
- Somewhere down the timeline, he sees the prophet Moroni, who told him where the gold pates were.
- Joseph smith then translated it into the Book of Mormon.

Now to what they believe in.
Mormons believe that everyone has a pre-life, a spirit life before mortal life. There were many gods that became gods because they followed the law in their pre-life. Adam, eve, jehova, jesus, the father are all gods.
They believe to be saved one needs to:
- Have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
- Repentance
- Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins
- Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost
They believe one man can have many wives. And in marriage a breakable bond is formed.

Sorry for being lazy and posting more vids than words. Mormonism is very wide is is hard to cover everything in words. Hope the videos provided a good understanding of Mormonism.
