A New Song: 神机会的风 by 生命河灵粮堂

Friday, October 21, 2011

Woohoo, thought I'd share a Chinese song for a change, we are a Chinese church after all so let's not forget our roots! This song is from a Bread of Life church in Taiwan, and the song name, 神机会的风, in English is When the Wind of the Lord is Rising:

Okay so the music/recording and all isn't as fantastic as what we've been sharing up til today, but I think this song is really meaningful, reminding us of God's perfect timing, His blueprint for our lives and the fact that He'll be carrying us as we follow this blueprint.

The first verse reminds me of the familiar hymn In His Time: "In His time, in His time / He makes all things beautiful in His time." The first verse of 神机会的风 goes like this, with a rough English translation:
神造万物 各按其时 成为美好
凡事都有定期 天下万物 都有定时
God made all things, to become beautiful in the time He has set for them
Everything has a time, everything under the sky has its own time
Pardon the bad english translation, haha. But back to the point; we know God has set a time for things to happen in our lives, for all things to become beautiful in its time. In this day and age, we are so used to things happening immediately and instantly. From Cup Noodles and microwaves, to e-mail and Facebook notifications, we receive what we want without having to wait too long. So for many Christians, it's always hard to wait for God to do things. It seems like God's taking His own sweet time to show us His will; we become impatient with Him despite 'knowing' that He has a time for everything.

But the 2nd verse of the song reminds us of what our prayer should be when we start getting impatient with God:
当我敏锐于神工作的时候
愿你旨意完全彰显
打开我双眼 看见你的作为
崭新的机会正敞开
But when I want to do God's work,
May your will be shown
Open my eyes, so that I can see Your works
New opportunities are opening
When we get impatient with God, it's not God's fault. As humans, we always try to find someone else to blame: "God, why are you like this? Why are you taking so long?" But it's not God's fault that we are impatient, but rather, our own. We should be saying instead, "God, may Your will be done, and help me open my eyes to see what You are doing in my life."

However, if you've ever had an argument with someone, you'll know that it's often hard to let go of your pride and stop pushing the blame. But it's only when we tear down that wall of blame, will we be able to see the other side of the wall, of what He means by 'making everything beautiful in its time' (Ecclesiastes 3:11). And God promises that we don't have to be afraid of what lies behind the wall, because He will carry us through whatever we may face in life:
当神机会的风吹起
主带领我乘风破浪
在生命每个转弯处
都经历突破大能和恩典
When the Lord's wind of opportunity rises
He will lead me over the wind & waves
At every turn in life,
His breakthrough power & grace can be experienced

当神机会的风吹起
主带领我乘风破浪
在生命每个季节中
坚持信靠跟随我主
When the Lord's wind of opportunity rises
He will lead me over the wind & waves
In life's every season,
I'll follow the Lord faithfully & persistently
No matter what storms we face in life, we can be assured that God will lead us to conquer them. When we feel unsure of God's plan in our life, or start to get impatient with Him, we need only ask that our eyes be opened to the opportunities that He creates, and have faith that He will make all things beautiful in His time.
