We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense. Life is a series of problems: you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one. The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy. We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness. At some point in our lives, we will/would have asked ourselves, what is my purpose in life? What is the point of me living on this earth? While non-Christians can have many different answers to that question, Christians should know that our purpose is not defined by ourselves, but by God.
神早就已经知道你所经历的忧伤,Like most songs, the chorus of this song is where the main message comes through: That God's love is all-powerful and can help you to live out the real you, the you that God meant you to be:
来到祂施恩宝座前,
祂要除去一切重担,使你得着更新
耶稣的爱,奇妙的爱,In the interview with Rick Warren, he also mentioned:
让祂拿掉你的面具,可以活出新造的你,
耶稣的爱是奇妙的爱,
向祂敞开你的自己,活出一个真正的你
We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?I think these questions are questions we need to ask ourselves; what/who are we living for? Are we letting God's amazing love transform us to who we're really meant to be?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)? When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do.
That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits at God’s right hand in the place of honor and power. Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth. For you died when Christ died, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your real life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
