Hey Guys,
This post will be about the brief introduction of the Old Testament in the Bible.
As most of you (should) know, the Bible consists of 66 books in total. The Old testament has 39 of these books. an easy way to remember this is by remembering that on the word "Old" there's 3 letters and "Testament" has 9 hence 39. For the New Testament, it is 3 X 9 = 27 books. If you're afraid just remember 66 and 39 and subtract from there.
Now these books are split into different categories mainly Historical, Experience/Narratives and Prophetic books. In O.T. there's 17 Historical books, 5 Experience and 17 Prophetic. In the N.T. it is 5 His, 21 Exp, 1 Proph. When We talk about experience we are referring to books that are written as personal records of certain people.
Some interesting facts:
The smack middle of the Bible according to some is
Isaiah 53, which is a prophecy about Jesus carrying our sins and such.
Israel split into two countries Israel and Judah at the peak of Solomon's rule. The Northern country had all the baddies and got conquered by Assyria pretty soon. The Southern countries also had baddies but also some good Kings, but got conquered by Babylon.
Because these are tested, please study and comprehend the contents of the diagrams below.
Really Hope I don't have to explain the diagrams below. That would defeat the purpose of translating these. If they are too small you can click on them to enlarge. (Israel is spelt wrongly in some places)
